Role-specific CV guide

How to write a banking operations CV

Help a hiring manager understand the transactions, controls, systems, and customers you support. Be precise about your own responsibilities and the checks you perform.

Recommended structure

  1. Contact details and a clear target role.
  2. A short profile naming your relevant operations experience.
  3. Core skills and systems that you can use confidently.
  4. Employment history in reverse chronological order.
  5. Education, relevant training, and certifications.

Describe operational work clearly

Replace broad claims such as “handled payments” with the type of work, your action, and its purpose. Mention volumes or accuracy only when you can verify them and explain the period and measurement.

Adaptable example: Reviewed [payment or reconciliation queue], investigated exceptions against [relevant records or controls], and escalated unresolved items to [team] within agreed procedures.

Another pattern: Supported [process] by checking [data or documents], recording decisions in [system], and following up with [stakeholders] to resolve discrepancies.

Relevant skills to include when accurate

Make evidence easy to scan

Use consistent dates and concise bullets. Explain the kinds of transactions or accounts you handled, the checks you made, and how you worked with colleagues. Protect confidential customer and employer information; do not include account details or internal security procedures.
