How to write a customer service CV

Show how you listen, investigate, explain, and follow through. Strong customer service CVs give concrete examples of the problems handled and the way customers were supported.

Recommended structure

  1. Contact details and the customer service role you want.
  2. A short profile describing your customer-facing experience.
  3. Relevant communication, systems, and case-handling skills.
  4. Recent roles with examples of issues resolved and processes followed.
  5. Training, languages, or qualifications relevant to the service.

Turn duties into useful examples

Explain the customer need, the steps you took, and the result when known. A result can be a resolved query, a clear next step, or a smoother handoff; it does not need to be a made-up percentage.

Adaptable example: Investigated [type of customer issue] by reviewing [relevant information], explained the available options in plain language, and coordinated with [team] to agree the next step.

For a service team: Responded to enquiries through [channels], documented each case in [system], and followed up on outstanding actions within [actual service standard].

Skills to highlight when they are yours

Keep claims specific and honest

If you include customer satisfaction, response times, or case volumes, use figures you can substantiate and state the context. Remove customer names and private case details. Match your terminology to the advert without claiming experience you do not have.
